Sorsogon broadcaster hurt in motorcycle accident
SORSOGON CITY, Philippines - A local broadcaster here was hurt following a motorcycle crash early Monday while on his way to the city proper, a hospital staff said.
The victim was identified as Jun Galias, a commentator of Radio Natin-Sorsogon and secretary of the NUJP (National Union of Journalists in the Philippines) Sorsogon chapter.
At the time of the accident, Galias had just come from Bibincahan Village. The incident happened about 8 a.m.
According to a Medical Mission Group hospital staff, Galias suffered head injuries and remains unconscious while undergoing medical treatment.
Galias is a hard hitting broadcast journalist in the province. He is known as a vocal critic of government forces who commit human rights violations.
Galias also writes for Sorsogon Now and Sorsogon Today, a weekly newspaper in the province of Sorsogon. - Angel Ayala, GMANews.TV
