[ALERT] Community reporter killed in Davao del Sur

Community journalist Orlando “Dondon” Dinoy, was killed past 6 p.m. on Saturday inside his apartment on Mother Ignacia St. in Poblacion Uno, Bansalan, Davao del Sur.

An initial report said Dinoy was in his apartment when a still unidentified assailant barged inside his makeshift broadcast booth and shot him at close range.

Bansalan PNP is now conducting an investigation into motive for the attack.

Dinoy was a known broadcast journalist in Davao del Sur.

He was a reporter for Newsline.Ph and a block time anchor of Energy FM in Digos City.

Dinoy was also a former correspondent of Sunstar Davao and the Philippine Daily Inquirer.

Twenty-one journalists have been killed in the Philippines since 2016.
