[Alert] Former NUJP Capiz chair shot dead

Pilar, Capiz administrator John Heredia, a longtime member of the National Union of Journalists of the Philippines, was shot dead by motorcycle-riding gunmen at Barangay Lawa-an, Roxas City Sunday afternoon, May 2.

 

The victim was about to board his vehicle when he was attacked.

 

In an interview with the local media, Heredia’s wife, lawyer Cris Heredia, said the victim was dead on arrival when he was brought to Capiz Doctor’s Hospital.

 

She said they will wait for the result of the police investigation.

 

Heredia was the first and longest-sitting chair of NUJP’s Capiz chapter.
