UPDATED ALERT: Davao Today columnist reportedly nabbed, missing June 9, 2019 (3:23 p.m.)

Davao City-based opinion writer Margarita Valle was arrested at the Laguindingan Airport in Laguindingan, Misamis Oriental, while on her way back home Sunday morning, June 9.

A columnist of SunStar Davao and Davao Today, Valle was in Cagayan de Oro to conduct a writing workshop for the Rural Missionaries of the Philippines.

The reason for Valle’s arrest remains unclear but she was reportedly told that she will be brought to the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG).

Maj. Napoleon Carpio of the CIDG-10 has confirmed Valle’s arrest but said she was arrested by CIDG-9 operatives.

Carpio said Valle is not under their custody.
